]]> Fri, 30 Oct 2009 00:00:00 PDT New Post <![CDATA[New Post: The Biggest Regatta Yet!]]> Bullhead City (Ariz), - August 31, 2009  More than 5,500 people registered for this year's Bullhead City River Regatta, held Saturday on the Colorado River, and an estimated 2,000 more lined the shores, attended barbecues or showed up for the regatta "Gorilla Flotilla" party at Rotary Park.

"This was the biggest regatta we've had," said Bullhead City Mayor Jack Hakim. "There were people standing all along the river." In 2008, some 4,000 people floated the river.

This year's theme was "Birthday Bash N Splash" to commemorate Bullhead City's 25th year of incorporation and prizes and trophies were awarded to decorated floats in various categories. The 2009 winners were:

Grand Prizes Best 'Overall' Decorated Float ($500 and trophy) - #1 Topock Gamblers Best Decorated Commercial Business Float (travelling trophy) - #31 Pro-Flor

Team (2-10 participants) First Place ($250 and trophy) - #10 Bullhead / Laughlin Chambers of Commerce Second Place ($100 and trophy)   #31 Hillbilly Haven

Mega Team (11-20 participants) First Place ($250 and trophy) - # 37 ProFlor Second Place ($100 and trophy)   #12 Mac's Mob

Super Team (21 or more participants) First Place ($250 and trophy)- #1 Topock Gamblers Second Place ($100 and trophy)- #27 Hideout
